Corvette Centennial Edition

100 years of performance: Chevy celebrates with a Corvette

Chevrolet is celebrating a century of the existence of the marque and an expression of their pride is a really attractive racing package. The Centennial Edition package will be available for all 2012 Corvette models. ( , 12.04.2011)

Dedicated to the founder

When called upon to glorify a memorable past history the marketing experts are prone to digging deep into the chronicles of yesterday. Chevrolet is no exception when it come to marking a hundred years of existence and for the Corvette Centennial Edition calls on the aid of nobody less than the company’s founder. It remains a fact, however, that good old Louis Chevrolet was only involved with the firm for a short four years and ended up a poor man. Be that as it may. On the B pillar of the cars, lacquered in ‘Carbon Flash Metallic’, there is a likeness of Louis in racing goggles all embellished with the figure ‘100’ in graceful calligraphy. This logo is also repeated on the steering-wheel and the hub-caps.

Suitably menacing

If Mr Chevrolet is able to look down on the Vette he will surely be a proud man. The belligerent sports car icon looks good in matt black, the red-rimmed alloys and brake saddles are a thrilling touch. The black light-metal wheels are available for the Coupé, Cabrio and Grand Sport models in 18 and 19 inch format, for the Z06 and ZR1 they are in the sizes 19 and 20 inch. Chevrolet’s intelligent suspension, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, is standard on all Centennial models. The interior is a reprise of the exterior colour scheme with black leather and Alcantara and red accent stitching. From summer 2011 the Centennial Edition will be available for all Corvette models and pricing will be announced closer to commencement of sales.
