The highlights
It starts once again on the 30th of March, although day one is restricted to members of the press and media. The next day the doors will open at the fairgrounds in Essen. There 1,200 exhibitors will turn into the world capital of classic cars for five days. Not only old-timer autos will be on show, motor cycles and ancient motor sport rarities will also be represented. The Techno Classica is also an important after market event. The spare parts dealers will be very present but so too will be restorers, specialists in automotive literature, creative artists and auto modellers. The Techno Classica is well established as the meeting place for classic car clubs from all over the world. And the serious fans will find themselves unable to ignore the 2,500 old-timers which are actually on sale.
The car industry in Essen
The automobile industry with use the Techno Classica this year to celebrate its own heritage. Mercedes Benz will be reminding visitors of the invention of the motor car 125 years ago. BMW will put the spotlight on the 75th birthday of the 328 model range. Volkswagen will show a rare collection of Karmann models and Audi will have a couple of its historic racing tourers on display. Also present again this year will be Skoda, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Peugeot, Bentley, Bugatti, Rolls Royce and for the first time also Opel and Fiat.

Worth a visit
The Techno Classica fair will run from the 31st of March through the 3rd of April. It is expected that there will be about 180 thousand visitors from over thirty countries. Fans of old-timers can admire the classics on show on weekdays from 10 am to 6 pm and on weekends the opening time is 9 am. Admission for adults is 20 Euros and 50 Euros buys entrance for a family with two children.
