Aston Martin V12 Zagato: Series version bowing in Frankfurt

At the Concorso Villa d’Este Aston Martin and the Italian design studio Zagato presented a V12 Zagato concept car and this was indeed one of the stellar attractions on the shores of Lake Como. Now at the IAA motor show in Frankfurt the series version of the car will be unveiled. ( , 26.08.2011)

Combined traditions

With this ambitious twelve-cylinder beauty a collaboration between two elite firms… Aston Martin and Zagato… is perpetuated. This is a tradition which started fifty years ago with the unforgotten DB4 GT Zagato and continued to give lovers of fine sports car models like the V8 Vantage Zagato, the V8 Zagato and the DB7 Zagato. Now comes the V12 which was previewed as a concept car at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and it must be seen as a further  milestone in this British-Italian automotive partnership. After the racing debut of two V12 Zagatos at the 24 hour race on the Nordschleife the IAA show will see the presentation of the series version to be produced as a very limited edition.

Aston Martin V12 Zagato
The V12 Zagato is powered by a six-litre V12 engine with 517 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque. The entirely hand-made sports car will be offered to very rich buyers from summer next years and the price will be 376 thousand Euros before taxes.

Exclusive in all respects

The basis for the design is the Aston Martin Vantage and the Zagato uses the same motorization… the six-litre V12 with 517 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque. This produces a car which in just 4.2 seconds can hit a hundred kilometres an hour and reach a maximum velocity of 305. The body made of aluminium and carbon fibre laminates is built entirely by hand and then the carosserie is shipped for the final montage to the Aston Martin works in Graydon. A high degree of exclusivity is imposed by the British car maker by limiting the production run to just 150 vehicles. They will be available to tempt very rich buyers from summer next year and the price will be 376 thousand Euros before taxes.
