B&B Audi A7: Sports sedan with 425 horsepower

The crew at B&B have already created tuned Golf, Beetle and TT versions and now they are upping their game with a premium class auto. Their Audi A7 can benefit from three levels of serious tuning. (Jessica Fischer , 13.01.2012)

Three levels of motor tuning

B&B are mainly known as tuners of Volkswagen and Audi models and now they have turned their attention to the A7, offering a broad range of enhancement options. These include power upgrades for both the three-litre TFSI and three-litre TDI power plants with 204 and 245 horsepower. For the TFSI engine the B&B engineers have developed a motor management program which alters the electronic controls and raises the turbo pressure. For 1,998 Euros the A7 owner can have an output raised from 300 to 385 horsepower and from 440 to 490 Nm of torque. The second level upgrade brings the possibility of having 408 horsepower and 520 Nm. This package includes optimization of the air intake, the air flow and the intercooler performance and will cost 2,950 Euros. The third step proposed by B&B adds a sports exhaust and silencer system and for an investment of 5,950 Euros the end result is an engine outputting 425 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. For the three-litre diesels with 204 and 245 horsepower there are similarly three levels of power boost offered. Again the electronics are tweaked and the turbo pressure raised… in this instance by 0.15 bar. Thus from the engine which gave originally 204 horsepower there will now be 300 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque at the disposal of the driver who will have paid 3,950 Euros for the privilege. For the same price B&B will up the output of the 245 horsepower diesel to 325 horsepower and 640 Nm of torque.

: Stopping power for the higher powered tuned versions is provided by six-piston high-performance brake units at a cost of 5,995 Euros. For a more racy look B&B offer a range of sports wheel in 19, 20 and 21 inch format.

The right look

The increases in power demand suspension improvements, too. For 398 Euros B&B will put sports springs under the carosserie which also lower the auto by about 3 centimetres. This has the positive side-effect of reducing the car’s sway. For 1,498 Euros the A7 owner can have installed an adjustable coil-over unit… specifically developed by the tuner for this model. This reduces sway even more and allows for higher speed through the corners. For A7 models with pneumatic suspension B&B will provide a body lowering module… bringing the car 3 centimetres closer to the roadway… for 1,298 Euros.
