Gone with the wind
The body-kit sized ultra-wide makes the BMW X6 M all of seven centimetres broader in the beam and the aerodynamics of the skirts and wheel-arch fairings have been calculated to give 15 percent more cooling wind for the engine compartment.

- At the back plenty to admire… Carbon fittings, roof and rear-end spoilers and a completely new stainless-steel exhaust unit.
And extra cooling is certainly needed for the 4.4 litre V8 in its admirable ‘M’ version. With the G-Power exhaust system and after optimization of the electronics with the harmless-sounding ‘Bi-Tronik V3’ package the power output rises from 555 to 725 horsepower. The stock version generates 680 Nm of torque but here, too, more is on tap after the G-Power intervention. The maximum torque has been electronically limited… in order not to over-challenge the transmission… to 890 Nm, still enough to submit the drive shaft to extreme torture. With a more robust transmission G-Power claim that they can handle 1,000 Nm of torque. Anyway all of this is enough to propel the Sports Activity Coupé to a hundred in 4.3 seconds, 0.4 seconds faster than the un-modified car. As far as the top speed is concerned the tuner simply says “300 is no problem!”.

- The tyres fitted on the exclusive rims are by Michelin and they complement the overall look of the auto which with the G-Power coil-over suspension lurks 30 millimetres lower on the roadway.
The black avenger
In order to keep all of this push more or less under control G-Power have installed ceramic brake units behind the exclusive 23 inch forged alloys from the ‘Silverstone Edition’ range. Given that the wheel-arches have been substantially enlarged there is room for 11 and 12x23 rims and the 315/25-23 tyres in spite of the fact that the carosserie is now about 30 millimetres closer to the tarmac. The black wheels fit seamlessly into the overall look of the X6 M Typhoon. The bumper at the front is marked by huge air intakes as is the rear fender unit, all in the interest of creating a whirlwind to cool both engine and brakes, although the look of the car is also given an even more extreme touch… a look which may be seen as menacing by other drivers on the autobahn. Centrally in the rear fascia there are twin tailpipes in 114 millimetre diameter positioned above the diffuser… the guarantee of memorably sound. Roof and rear-end spoilers add further to the aerodynamic qualities and give the appearance of the car even more aggressivity. The ‘Venturi’ carbon fibre bonnet of the Typhoon features ‘Dynamic Venting’ technology which adds further to the car’s remarkable appearance.

- For the interior of the car the G-Power specialists have come up with a simple concept… the colour scheme is strictly black-and-orange whether the materials used are leather, carbon or Alcantara.
The cost issue
For the interior of the car the G-Power specialists have come up with a simple concept… the colour scheme is strictly black-and-orange whether the materials used are leather, carbon or Alcantara. Refinements include the G-Power speedometer and the ergonomically correct steering-wheel. Of course if a client prefers a different colour combination his wish will become reality at G-Power.

- The owner of a X6 M who wants it to be a Typhoon will have to pay over 84 thousand Euros. But this does mean that the owner will be one of the very few to have such an exclusive and excessive SUV… sorry, that should be SAC.
Now with regard to the cost of all this tuning excess… Excessive! The extra-wide body-kit alone is priced at 15,900 Euros. The optional carbon fibre bonnet can be had for 6,890 Euros. The wheel-set inclusive of Michelin tyres will set the buyer back by another 10,550 Euros and in comparison the G-Power coil-over suspension at 3,604.51 Euros will seem almost dirt cheap. The performance enhancement… the ‘Bi-Tronik V3’ package and the G-Power exhaust system… will cost 16,096 Euros. Those who also wish to have the ceramic brakes must lay down another 17,208 for the stoppers on the front axle and 14,016 for those at the back, investments which seem almost mandatory with such excessive power in play. All of this adds up to a hefty investment for the owner of a X6 M who wants it to be a Typhoon. After all, he will have already shelled out 109 thousand Euros for the stock automobile. On top of this G-Power will bill him for 84,354.51 for the complete transformation. But this does mean that the owner will be one of the very few to have such an exclusive and excessive SUV… sorry, that should be SAC.
