CLP Automotive BMW M3: Gin and tonic
Georgensmünd was first mentioned in historical chronicles in the year 1304. Located in the Franconia region of the state of it is home to CLP Automotive, a specialist maker of body-kit components. Now they have come up with an exciting offer for owners of BMW M3 E92 models. This is not just about boosted power… they propose a fully street legal racer. (Florian Maier

Killer body
As might be expected of CLP their first step in trimming the BMW M3 is to make it a lot wider. The kit is dubbed ‘Interceptor’ and includes a front fascia with carbon flap, a new bonnet hood, front quarter panels, side-skirts and wheel-arch extensions, a rear skirt and a spoiler wing large enough to serve as a bar counter on which several gin-and-tonics would find room (GT… geddit?). The body-kit is priced at 8,800 Euros.

- There is a titanium exhaust system by Akrapovic with big mid-ships tail pipes from which comes a sound which contradicts any who dare to speak of downsizing.
Sound and fury
The M3 hits the tarmac on 9 and 12x19 inch wheels, with white lacquered racing alloys in a central-locking look. An optimized Bilstein coil-over suspension provides the needed body lowering and great handling in the corners. - Recaro full-shell seats and a roll-over cage made by Wiechers ensure maximum safety.
Eat ‘em up
There has been some serious reduction of the cars weight and inside there is no lack of racing atmosphere. Here there are Recaro full-shell seats which provide… according to the shape of the driver… the required support of pressure. A roll-over cage made by Wiechers is an added safety measure and one which is relevant indeed… with the performance kit involving a compressor the CLP M3 GT has around 600 horsepower. The cost of the complete re-build is given by CLP as in the region of 69 thousand Euros. This is the price of showing up on the autobahn as an extravagant individualist.
