Third generation upgrade
It was in 1997 that Toyota began production of the hybrid drive auto which paved the way for all that followed and with a good measure of success. The model entered its third generation back in 2009 but now a mid-cycle upgrade has been ordered and the result will be seen when the facelifted versions hit the showrooms in April. The latest Prius can be identified by its new front design. The fender has a new and bigger grille with integrated daytime running lights. Also modified are the turn indicator lights and the lighting clusters at the back, and the rear-view mirrors which can now be electrically retracted. For the interior there are higher quality materials featured and the instruments on the dash have been re-designed. Toyota have also expanded the feature set of the multi-media and navigation system.
