MTM responds to the hunger for power
It might appear inconsistent. In their program Audi now have an A7 as a chic four-door coupé which is designed for fast cruising and is perfectly well served by a potent diesel power plant. But currently this delivers ‘only’ 245 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque… something that MTM see as a situation demanding a remedy. The tuner based very close to Ingolstadt has upped the power output and at the same time enhanced the driving dynamics.

- By installing an extra control module designated 'M-Cantronic’ the output of the Audi A7 Sportback 3.0 TDI rises to 285 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque as a first level of enhancement.
One price, two performance levels
As is often the case MTM have been content to leave the look of the car basically unaltered. Roland Meyer chooses to prioritize performance. By installing an extra control module designated 'M-Cantronic’ the output rises to 285 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque. This costs the A7 owner 1,392 Euros inclusive of montage which may give rise to a few frowns, and lead him to consider a bigger step up to 300 horsepower and 600 Nm. For this costs not a penny more, in spite of the fact that to achieve this further boost MTM replace the standard motor management unit with one of their own and de-activate the V-Max limiter. The result is a top speed of 263 kilometres an hour instead of 250.
Driving dynamics enhanced
Those who also want to benefit from the MTM exhaust system will have to dip deeper into their pockets. Given that it is hard to get a really good sound at the back of a diesel it seems a bit excessive to ask 2,600 Euros for the visual bonus of four end-pipes. But what the tuner charges for the suspension is more reasonable. This is actually still in development and not yet on the market but according to MTM boss Mayer it will cost “around 699 Euros”. Those opting to give their A7 Sportback a wider track… 20 and 30 millimetres front and back respectively… will find their 20 inch rims in Bimoto design look even more impressive in the wheel arches. But for this extra, too, we must wait for pricing details.
