Fast lane furies
The tuners at the Bavarian specialist MTM concentrate on Audi and Volkswagen models and make their own contribution to fast-lane excitement. Now they have come up with a range of modifications for the 4.2 litre V8 TDI which is currently installed in Audi A8 and Q7 models as well as under the bonnets of VW Touaregs. An increase from 350 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque to a hefty 410 horsepower and 930 Nm is the result of the tuner’s adaptation of the motor management electronics… a treatment costing 1,499 Euros plus 286 Euros for the installation. The same power enhancement to 410 horsepower and 930 Nm can be achieved for about a hundred Euros less when MTM install an additional control device called ‘M-Cantronic’… 1,499 Euros plus 191 for the montage.

Higher top speed
Only the Audi A8 will benefit from being released from the ‘V-Max’ shackles. With the ‘V-Cantronic’ module on board (1,199 Euros plus 191 Euros for the installation) the diesel-powered luxury sedan will now reach 282 kilometres an hour when no longer limited to the usual 250. The combination of increased power output and the removal of the top speed limitation is also possible. For 2,663 Euros (this time inclusive of installation) the end result is 410 horsepower, 930 Nm of torque and a maximum velocity of 282 kilometres an hour. In addition to the engine optimization there are also wheel sets, brakes, exhaust units and suspension components for customers of Motoren Technik Mayer.
