Vilner’s Mercedes-Benz Vito 120 CDI: Jet-set deluxe
The craftsmen who see to the interior fittings of cars modified by Vilner are based in Bulgaria and their job is to add further luxury to premium automobiles. But occasionally they busy themselves with an unlikely automobile… in this instance a Vito transporter which gets a high-end interior. (Florian Maier

New purpose vehicle
The basis for the transformation is a perfectly normal Mercedes Vito 120 CDI transporter, the vehicle popular with artisans and trades-people with a three-litre V6 diesel to push it along with 204 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque.

- Bi-Xenon headlamps add luxury limo allure and the cowlings provide a slightly aggressive touch.
But the team at Vilner had no interest in enhancing the power output or the transporter’s performance. Their goal was to create a ‘business class’ version of the van, to make it suitable for travel in superb comfort as well as for livery service use. It can be safely said that they reached their goal. As far as the exterior of the vehicle is concerned Vilner made only minor improvements… the Vito now has bi-Xenon headlamps with cowlings, LED daytime running lights and a more sporty combination of rims and rubber.

- The driver and his front seat companion are enthroned in comfortable leather upholstered seats borrowed from the Mercedes CL-Class. The cockpit features a vast acreage of Nappa leather and Alcantara.
Finest woods
In the cockpit the utilitarian has been banished and now the driver and his front seat companion are enthroned in comfortable leather upholstered seats borrowed from the Mercedes CL-Class and can repose their putatively be-jewelled wrists on arm-rests crafted in finest mahogany. There is a special ergonomically configured steering wheel, connectivity for smartphones and digital devices of all kinds, several additional instruments and inevitably a vast acreage of Nappa leather and Alcantara.
-
- The back of the Vito is as luxurious as any business jet.
High society flair
At the rear of the Vito, where normally all kinds of far-from-noble stuff is stowed, luxury is re-defined… Vilner have installed four individual armchairs which resemble those one might expect to find in a business jet. There is a refrigerator and a mini-bar and plenty of beautifully finished shelf space. A further highlight is the high-end multi-media entertainment system with a 19 inch LCD screen and atmospheric ambient lighting. There has been no announcement with regard to the price Vilner ask for their Vito. Probably a case of "if you need to ask what it costs you can’t afford it”.
