The CC with no further prefix
For four years Volkswagen has been selling the sporty version of its mid-class model as the Passat CC. Now the four-door coupé has been given a minor facelift and new assistant systems. And in future it will simply be designated Volkswagen CC and will be a stand-alone model between the standard Passat and the premium Phaeton model.
Première in
The car with room for four or five occupants will be presented to the public for the first time at the Los Angeles Auto Show from the 18th to 27th of November and will go on sale in February next year. The motorizations remain unchanged with both petrol fuelled and diesel engines ranging from 140 horsepower (103 kW) to 300 (220 kW) powering the new Volkswagen CC models. All diesels will now come with stop/start automation. The standard equipment will in future include new bi-Xenon headlights with VW’s Adaptive Front Lighting System and LED tail-lamps, static turn indicators and fatigue detection aids. New assistant systems such as camera based traffic sign recognition and high-beam automation will be available as optional extras.
New assistant systems
For the first time CC models will also have blind-spot monitoring with feedback to the driver via the steering to avoid collisions. The new prices have not yet been announced but the current CC models start at 30,575 Euros.
