Mini turbo-power
The British publication ‘Evo Magazine’ reports that the IAA concept VW Up GT will now be manufactured in series. The sporting Up will have a turbo-charged version of the standard 68 horsepower engine and will get from just one litre of displacement around 110 horsepower. This push will be sent to the front wheels via a six-speed gearbox. Visually the Up GT will set itself apart with its bigger wheels, a dynamic body-kit and twin tailpipes at the back.

A new entrant
The Up GT will provide new competition in the vehicle category occupied by the Twingo Sport and the Abarth 500. Although the Up has less power output than its rivals (Twingo 131 horsepower, Abarth 500 with 135 horsepower) the car made in Wolsburg is a good 100 kilos lighter in weight. The new model will certainly get a warm welcome from all those who were fans of the Lupo GTI. When this successor model will reach the showrooms and what it will cost has not yet been revealed.
