The Celica is so over! Toyota’s new sports car has a Boxer motor and rear-wheel-drive and is designated the ‘GT 96’. In the autumn of 2012 the auto, a close relative of the Subaru BRZ, will reach German showrooms and the Japanese are promising us a reasonably priced sports machine.
Toyota has rediscovered the 'joy of driving'… which fits well with their new cooperation with BMW. But for their sporty GT86 the helping hand came from Subaru who contributed their Boxer motor. We report impressions of a first outing with the light-weight racer.
